Dry Carpet Cleaning
By ProMatcher Staff
What is dry carpet cleaning?
Dry cleaning carpets is another method of removing dirt and dust from the carpeting in your home. It is commonly used in industrial and retail location as well. Dry carpet cleaning tends to be a more affordable alternative to steam cleaning.
How does dry carpet cleaning work?
A chemical compound is spread over the carpet and then it is scrubbed into the surface with a pad or brush. As a result, most of the dirt from the carpet is transferred to the pad. After the entire area is scrubbed, any remaining granules of the chemical are removed with a vacuum cleaner. These chemical compounds can be potentially dangerous. You should consult your cleaner to make sure it safe for your pets and small children.
No Waiting Game
When carpets are “dry” cleaned, you can immediately resume use, as there is no drying time. However, this cleaning method is not as effective when it comes to treating tough stains. Dry carpet cleaning mostly addresses the visible surface, whereas steam cleaning can eliminate stains that are deeply embedded in the carpet.
